What do you love about Allen? I love the close family atmosphere and the small class sizes. I love that teachers have the freedom to be creative.

- I served as Math department head in Istanbul.
- I taught one year of high school art and speech.
- I was a dorm mom at a Black Forest Academy in Germany for a boy’s dorm with 32 teenage boys.
What are you passionate about? My faith and my family are tops of my list. I am passionate about seeing kids learn and grow. I love to see the light finally turn on about Math. I like finding out about students interests outside of the Math classroom. Languages fascinate me and I love to travel.
Interesting Facts about you: I spent over 20 years living outside of America. I lived in Zimbabwe, Turkey, Germany and Canada. I like to cook and make homemade bread. I have seen the big five in Africa – Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhinoceros and Cape Buffalo. I started my working life as a software developer for NASA in Houston, TX.
Favorite book? Too many favorites. While living overseas we had over 7 bookshelves. I love mysteries like Agatha Christie and Tony Hillerman for easy reading. All of the Malcolm Gladwell books are at the top of my list. For more serious fiction, Life of Pi by Yann Martel.

What causes are close to your heart? Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Boy Scouts, Refugees, NASA and space exploration
