As a core value at Allen Academy, adaptability has been a through-line for more than 130 years. Whether it was changing campuses, changing format from co-ed, to military prep, to an independent day school, our school has and will continue to adapt.

Yesterday, Allen Academy began its 131st year of educating young people in the Brazos Valley. Opening our doors this fall with the largest student body in over a decade, our 331 boys and girls range in age from 3 to 19, hail from 28 different zip codes, and represent 23 different nationalities. We also have almost 80 new students on campus, including children who are third generation Allen, numerous siblings, and several students with parents who work at Texas A&M. We also have energetic families who have moved to (or back to) the Brazos Valley and are excited about sending their children to the only independent school in town.
As we celebrate 130 years of Allen Academy, we more specifically celebrate Allen students, families, teachers, and friends-the people who have believed in and helped create this dynamic, enduring, and ever-evolving school community.
The month of May in schools is filled with opportunity: opportunity to finish strongly, opportunity to reflect on how much each of us has learned, and opportunity to say goodbye. Most importantly, however, it's a great time to remind ourselves to celebrate.
