Allen Academy will continue to monitor and communicate information to parents via Friday Notes and RenWeb Announcements regarding the procedures that the school will follow as we near the flu season. 

Several steps have been taken by the school to maintain a healthy environment that can best protect the entire school community:

Posting of H1N1 information from the following agencies:
Texas Department of Health Services
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Brazos County Health Department

Administrator attendance and participation in H1N1 state wide conference call and presentation by Brazos County Health Department. 

School-wide placement of hand sanitizers in all classrooms and common areas.

Daily sanitizing of all surfaces, including light switches and doorknobs.

When to stay at home due to illness:

Students should stay home when ill and not return to school until they are fever free for 24 hours without use of fever reducing medications.

Students who become ill while at school will be required to be picked up by a parent. During the wait time, they will remain in isolation at the nurse's station prior to pickup.
