Head of Lower School
Tommy has spent the better part of his carreer as an independent school teacher, coach, advisor, and administrator. Fresh out of Oklahoma State University in 1973, Tommy found a teaching position at Casady School in Oklahoma City, where he stayed for the next 29 years. As a homeroom teacher with experience in kindergarten through sixth grade, Tommy taught math, language arts, social studies, and science. During the last 5 of those years, Tommy became Director of Lower Division where he stayed until 2002, when he and his wife Josie, also a teacher, moved to Dawson School in Lafayette, Colorado. For the next 13 years, Tommy was Director of Lower School, with 3 years combined administrative responsibilities as Director of Middle/Lower Schools. To relax, Tommy loves rock music, especially the Eagles, plays guitar, is an avid motorcyle racing fan, and he and Josie enjoy camping and flatwater kayaking. The Tibbitts have 2 grown children, Anna and Joseph.
