Art/Drama 06:
Art 06 focuses on stimulating the student’s imagination while building a visual art
vocabulary and refining artistic skills. This is a project-based course that allows the student to
experiment and experience both wet and dry media, both 2D and 3D art. Drama 06 taught through a blend of theatre games, improv exercises, and script analysis. Students will embark on a journey of creative discovery, unlock the magic of storytelling and ignite the stage with imagination! Art is taught in the Fall semester and drama is taught during the Spring semester.
MS Art:
This year-long course focuses on the teaching and further development of specific fundamental art skills based on the principles and elements of design. Students will use both wet and dry media while exploring two-dimensional and three-dimensional formats. Students will also be introduced to one or more STEAM activities. To enrich their understanding of the visual world around them, they will also be introduced to various influential artists and art movements.
Band 06:
6th Grade Band is a full year course where students learn the fundamentals of playing an instrument of their choice from the Brass, Woodwind or Percussion families. Students develop individual skills for producing a nice tone, playing in tune and with articulation, along with reading notes and rhythms on the music staff. 6th Grade Band performs as a class ensemble for Winter and Spring Fine Arts Night events.
MS Band:
MS Band is a full year course where students continue building their individual and ensemble performance skills for playing an instrument. MS Band events include performing for Veterans Day, Fine Arts Night in the Winter and Spring, and participating in the Rockin’ Rams! Band for pep rallies and home varsity football games. MS Band students also tryout for Region Band and participate in a Solo & Small Ensemble event.
Choir:
This class for Middle and Upper School Students will explore a diverse repertoire while honing their vocal techniques and ensemble skills. In class rehearsals will culminate with performances at both Winter and Spring Fine Arts Nights. This course is available to 7th through 12th grade students.
Orchestra 06:
This is an all beginner level, full year course. Students will learn about the beat, recognition of the simple music note and letters, rhythms, and musical symbols.The students will perform Winter and Spring Fine arts night and Solo & Ensemble events.
MS Orchestra:
This is an intermediate level, full year course. Students have the opportunity to practice, perform, create, analyze, and reflect in each musical unit.The students will practice vibrato skills and easy version music. An essay is required during the Spring Semester. The students will perform Winter and Spring Fine arts night, Solo & Ensemble events, Founders Day, and Veterans Day.
