Exploratory Spanish 6th grade:
This exploratory course provides students with key concepts and vocabulary when learning about family, home, classroom, and basic interpersonal communication skills in target language. Students will obtain basic Interpretive and Presentations skills in the course target language.
Topics for 6th grade Spanish:
Basic greetings, numbers, weather, seasons, family and clothing to name a few. We begin basic conjugation with ser, estar, tener and gustar. Our culture focus will be on Mexico, and Spain
Exploratory Spanish 7th Grade:
This exploratory course will provide students concepts and vocabulary that will build the ones learned in 6th grade. Students will increase their interpersonal skills in the target language. This course will provide an increased level of Interpretive and Presentational skills in the course target language. There will be a strong emphasis on basic reading and writing. Speaking in the target language will be utilized on a daily basis as frequently as possible.
Topics for 7th grade Spanish:
Review from the previous year, introductions and conversation, basic conjugations of -ar,-ir and -er verbs in the present tense, and work with irregular verbs. Our cultural focus will be on Mexico, Spain, Argentina
Exploratory Spanish 8th Grade:
This course will provide students concepts and vocabulary that will build the ones learned in 7th grade. Students will increase their interpersonal skills in the target language. This course will provide an increased level of Interpretive and Presentational skills in the course target language. There will be a strong emphasis on vocabulary, grammar and conjugation in preparation for Spanish 1. Speaking in the target language will be expected as frequently as possible on a daily basis.
Topics for 8th grade Spanish:
Review from the previous year; greetings and dialogues; thematic vocabulary - family, school, pastimes, travel; conjugation in the present tense and work with irregular verbs; emphasize reading, writing and listening skills. Our culture focus will be on Mexico, Spain and Argentina
