Other hats you wear at school:

Favorite thing about Allen or about teaching at Allen (what brought you here/keeps you here?): The vivacious students and the family atmosphere of the entire Allen community.

What are you passionate about? Math and Music. I studied opera at Manhattan School of Music from 2010-2013 and played violin since I was five. I’ve sung every genre of music and played about five instruments in my life; Violin, cello, clarinet, piano and guitar. I hope to continue to grow in my musical studies and search for new ways to marry this passion with my love of mathematics. I also love yoga and live with the intention of mindfulness in my everyday life. What else? Coffee, road trips, my loving husband and my furry yellow lab daughters.

Favorite book: Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

Favorite quotation: “Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” ~Winston Churchill

Bucket List items: Get to all seven continents one day… Write a book

What causes are close to your heart? Women in STEM, animal rights, human rights with a focus on race and immigration.

If you were a fictional character, who would you be? Lassie because I’m usually ready for an adventure and life would be awesome as a dog… the unconditional happiness, and all the smells!

If a movie was made about your life, who would play you? Scarlett Johansson
